The PSU Manager has the responsibility for organizing, directing and supervision the nursing staff and unit activities in accordance with nursing standards, JCAHO, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. The director and manager will assume responsibility for the nursing care on a defined shift and patient care unit. In addition, the PSU Manager is responsible for coordinating the unit activities with all ancillary departments as assigned. Accountability for delegating operational and personnel activities is assumed. The PSU Manager will assist in the evaluation process for those staff members supervised. The PSU Manager can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from 1 month through adolescence.
